Austin Modern Home Tour Saturday
See 16 modern homes in Austin this Saturday via the Austin Modern Home Tour. Full details here: modernhometouraustin.com
There are a lot of nice homes on the tour, I’m probably most interested in seeing this one, as I’ve admired their cantilevered pool from Lake Austin:

Open Architecture Austin – Tomorrow!
Last minute notice for a great even tomorrow, December 12:

Join the members of AIA Austin in our first annual OPEN ARCHITECTURE event, an "open house" of Architects’ Studios. See where and how the magic happens inside these creative East Austin businesses, hear plans for future projects and developments straight from the Architect themselves, and experience the unique styles and personalities of each studio. Maps will be provided so you may tour the studios at your own pace. Refreshments will be served.
Definitely worth the $5 ticket price, hopefully I’ll see you out there. Full details on the AIA site here: AIA Austin: Open Architecture
Tom Hurt – Architecture at the Umlauf
This Thursday is the last lecture in the 2009 Architecture at the Umlauf season. I’m very excited to hear Tom Hurt speak as he designed one of my favorite listings at 1101 Canyon Edge (on the AIA tour in 2006).
Architecture at the Umlauf – Thursday, 11/5/09, 7:30 PM
See you there!

2009 Austin NARI Tour of Remodeled Homes

See the NARI website for full details. This is a great tour if you’re considering a remodel and would like to evaluate & meet multiple contractors.
2009 Spanish Oaks Tour of Homes

This tour will show off a lot of impressive homes while benefiting a great cause – the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I can personally vouch for the Spanish Oaks pool – it was built by my friends at Modern Design Build and it is awesome. The Spanish Oaks Tour of Homes lasts from 10/24 – 11/8, full details at SpanishOaks.com.
