AIA Homes Tour 2008 Reminder

Don’t forget this weekend is the 2008 AIA Homes Tour. We had a great time at the Premiere Party last night, which was held at an amazing Westlake home designed by FAB Architecture. Here is a link to photos of the home: Hillside Residence.

As the name suggests, it sits on a hillside with an amazing view of downtown between the surrounding hills. You can see from the Aerial photo below that the home is built to capture this view.

If you’re touring on Saturday, I’ll be working as a docent from 3-6pm at the West Annie house. It’s an amazing home by 9 Square Studio.

    I would love to hear opinions regarding this year’s tour. I thought there were several great homes, but the standouts to me were the homes by Alterstudio, 9 Square Studio, Clayon Levy & Little Architects, and Studio Robins Dempsey. I would love to live in any one of these homes.

    Overall the 2008 Tour was nice but I would like to see some smaller, sustainable and more affordable green homes on the tour.
