The City of Austin is working on a plan to guide the development and improvement of Downtown Austin. This plan not only covers the future of the downtown area, but also the relationship between downtown Austin and the surrounding neighborhoods.

For more details checkout the Downtown Austin Plan website. More importantly, cast your vote in the Downtown Austin Plan Survey. The survey focuses on the types of development you’d like to see in downtown Austin and the problems you see with downtown Austin today.

As there are a few survey questions concerning transit (”How do you travel downtown?”), I thought I’d also point out an excellent local blog about Austin transportation issues. Here is a link to today’s post highlighting the shortcomings of the latest Streetcar plan:
